Bacteria are one-celled living organisms that make up the kingdom Monera. Bacteria are cellular organisms that have the ability to reproduce, whereas viruses are not cellular and cannot carry out cellular functions including reproducing on their own. Both bacteria and viruses are capable of causing infectious diseases.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

After researching a bacterium or virus you are to create a presentation portraying the virus or bacterium of your choice. In the presentation you are to either “brag” or “whine” about your job in life. Within your presentation solid facts about the symptoms, how it is transmitted, it's origin, is there a vaccine or antibiotic available, infection rate, a picture of it - as much detail as possible must be included!

Example – NOTE  your presentation must be much longer!

Bubonic Plague – I am responsible for wiping out 1/3 of the world’s population in the thirteen hundreds, an upward of 25 million people in Europe. I infect the lymph nodes and people often die after four days of being infected. I have trained fleas as my host to carry me where I need to go.
