Your Dream Vacation!
All your life you have dreamed about traveling through the digestive system! For your tour you will be shrunken down to the size of a protein chain, wrapped in a cellulose bubble, and sent on your way into the digestive tract. The van carrying you on your tour is made of a thick shell of protein, carbohydrates, and fats encrusted in shiny purple sugar crystals. It looks just like a pill capsule! Duncan has offered his digestive tract for your tour and he will swallow you at Thanksgiving dinner! You will enter his mouth with a piece of turkey, mashed potatoes, celery sticks and lots of fat.
Your assignment is to mail digital travel postcards to school from each of your stops. These stops include the mouth, the esophagus, the stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus. You must also include other organs that aid in digestion, these are known as digestive helpers. These include, the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
Each postcard will include:

A "photo" of where you are in your journey.

The activities at the stop - what is happening at this stage of digestion to the van and contents swallowed? What kind of nutrients are digested at this stage? Which organs and tissues are involved and what is their function?

What are your personal thoughts at this stage? For instance, what are you thinking, feeling or experiencing in Duncan's small intestine?

Your digital postcards can be made using Google Slides. If you take candid videos or pictures of your travels be sure to include them!
